Why not let COVID ‘Wash Over’ the country?

I read Cristina Cabrera’s article Trump Privately Asks Why Government Can’t Just Let COVID ‘Wash Over’ The Country where she writes “The Washington Post reported on Saturday that (…) Trump asked White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Anthony Fauci, “Why don’t we let this wash over the country?” (…) Fauci was stunned by the question. “Mr. President, many people would die,” the doctor reportedly told Trump.”

My comment on reddit:

The first time Trump asks a question that i would ask as well. And both the doctor’s answer and the comments i read tell me mostly one thing: OMG how terrified humans are when facing death! Asking questions to which the answer might be “many people would die” has become taboo. The WHO and the medical industry have become a god. But i won’t worship that god. A pandemic hurts for some time, slavery lasts for the rest of your life.

I refuse to believe in a culture that relies on some people making money out of it. I believe in a culture where death is not the end of everything and where love is more powerful than money. How funny that i read this news on Easter morning!

PS No, i don’t want Trump for president. But even blind chicken happen to find a corn and sometimes we need a naive child to make us realize that the emperor is naked.

The Covid19 crisis is an unprecedented shift of money and power from national governments to private corporations. The reason for this a bug in our legal system: it grants unlimited right on property while demanding only limited responsibility for the risks. Let’s fix this bug! Subdue the greedy giants!-
