The loneliest people

Yesterday we prayed, together with Pope Francis in November, for all those who suffer from depression and burnout. We usually can do nothing to help them but to silently suffer together with them. Today I found the following quote in my inbox:

The loneliest people are the kindest.

The saddest people smile the brightest.

The most damaged people are the wisest.

All because they don’t wish to see anyone else suffer the way they did.

Yes, such people exist. But I must unfortunately add that these are not the loneliest, saddest and most damaged people. It seems to me that Fernandes forgot about one group of people:

The loneliest people aren’t kind.

The saddest people don’t smile.

The most damaged people aren’t wise.

All because they don’t care about anyone else.
