I watched an ARTE report about “Homotherapies and forced conversions” (available for free from 27/10/2019 to 24/01/2020):

My notes :

Benoit’s words (minute 7 to 8) show how important and dangerous the sacrament of confession is. The most important thing to understand that the priest’s role is not to judge but to give absolution. As the priest during confession you don’t need to help the confessor understand what’s wrong in their life. They know that because God tells them. You can can give them your advice and tell them your opinion if they are in doubt and ask for it. But if the confessor does not regret it, then you don’t need to talk about it. You don’t need to make them regret something they fail to regret.

(minute 00:19) Exodus is an evangelical organisation that “helps” homosexuals to get “saved” from their “disorder” by faith in Jesus. Alan Chambers was its president for 20 years until 2013 when he understood that this was the wrong approach.
